$50k+ in revenue on Contra. Big milestone.
Here's my full revenue breakdown.
I started freelancing in April 2025 after leaving my job at a design studio. Since then, my income has come from a few different places (not all of it is visible on contra).
Most of it came from ongoing freelance work with startups. As I started working directly with clients on @Framer websites, I also began offering a monthly retainer for updates, maintenance, and improvements after launch. More recently, I joined contra labs, which has been a nice extra source of projects.
Here's the breakdown:
• Freelance work: 70% (worked with framer, contra, magicpath etc.)
• Direct clients: 24%
• Retainers: 4.3%
• Contra Labs: 1.7%
The number is nice, but knowing where it comes from is what actually helps you understand how to build something sustainable.
