About Secret City Studio
Secret City Studio: Website Redesign
Secret City is a Toronto experience design studio that creates immersive digital and location-based experiences for partners like Netflix, Snapchat, and Nintendo. I designed their original studio site while working in-house as a product designer. After going independent, they brought me back as a client to redesign it.
The first site did its job, but it didn't feel like Secret City. Their work is playful, story-driven, and built around bringing people together in unexpected places, and the site needed to carry that same energy. My approach was to let the brand's voice lead the design: bold, expressive type, layouts that feel more like an invitation than a portfolio, and copy-driven moments like "Let's play a part in an epic story."
I rebuilt the site in Framer with a focus on showing the scale of their work, including a gallery of their 23 productions, CMS-driven case studies, and a timeline of every experience they've created from day one to today. The result is a site that finally looks and sounds like the studio behind it.
